My latest body of work explores the depths and complexity of the female
experience. My work is as layered thematically as it is physically, both celebrating the bygone glamour of mid-century fashion and deconstructing its patriarchal underpinnings. I hope to reclaim classic femininity as multi-faceted, giving voice and texture to my subjects.

CABELL MOLINA ART & LOVE ART GALLERY
Cabell Molina is a feminist pop artist transplanted from California to the East Coast. Her work embodies the layers of raw emotion that form by experiencing pop culture in both the present tense and as nostalgia. Her latest series combines the contemplation of the evocative depths of pop culture with the immediate need for social change.
Cabell culled an adventurous, playful and at times controversial method of creation, immortalizing the power of an image. She uses type and graphics combined with thick paint, paper and layers to bring images to life. Her assemblage of bold, colorful mixed media work uses found elements, re-appropriated images, photography, Ephemera, oil pastels, aerosol, wallpaper, vintage magazines, fabric, gold lea, acrylic and oil paint.

I love to layer images, patterns, and texts to reshape familiar narratives about women.
